CULTIVATION
Cultivation: high degree of mechanization
The cultivation of Tree nursery Broekx is characterized by the high degree of mechanization. We have mechanized the majority of our nursery activities. Planting, pruning and lifting of trees. Smaller trees are lifted with a fully automatic root balling machine. Larger sizes are digged with a Holmac Tree digger.
Advantages of the mechanization:
• Better quality;
• Larger uniformity of trees;
• We can intervene faster in production. In processes like fertilization and controlling diseases and insects. Last year we invested in a self-propelled fieldsprayer. Therefore control of diseases and insects can be much more effective.
Optimal quality on light peaty soil
We grow on a light peat soil. Which results in plants with a large and beautiful root system. To produce high quality plants, we keep our soil in optimal condition.
All plants are regularly undercut and stabbed around the roots to get an optimal re-growth.
